Three CDs, Animal pairs and one Ulti Tournament
I went shopping with Steph the other day. This is never a good thing as we can easily provide rationales for each other's purchases thus allowing too much money to be exchanged with mall dwelling merchants. Regardless of that, I think I had the best CD buying day for in a long time. All three of the CDs that I bought at Aitch-Em-Vee are totally sweet. (The bargain bin trio from Music World isn't half bad either).
First off, if you haven't heard DJ Shadow, you're missing out. Someone has probably already extolled the virtues of this guy but I'm going to do it again. Endtroducing is perhaps my favorite CD that I have gotten this year. It's hard to describe, it's just good. Super good. And good drving music, especially if you're driving to feckin' Cochrane for an Ulti game. DJ Shadow tempered my road rage enough that I safely made it to Citadel with my passengers... Screw you Citadel! But I digress, go and listen to this CD all you punks out there! It's awesome.
I also picked up Feist's debut. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while, but haven't had a chance to get it yet. Needless to say, it is great. Good for driving to and from the hospital. Two thumbs up.
And lastly, Thievery Corporation's Cosmic Game album had been in my CD player for the last couple days. I like this CD muchly. Good tunes, good mix of tempos and excellent collaborations on this disc. Highly recommended, that is if my opinion means anything to you. Which it probably doesn't. And that's okay.
SloDown was this past weekend. It was awesome as usual. We made it to the Semi Finals and played some awesome Ulti. I'm feeling really good about my playing abilities right now. I won female MVP for one of our games and was treated to a shot of nasty bourbon, pork rinds and a wagon wheel. Yum. The weather held up, I got myself a bit of a tan and the party was awesome. Al and I got to hang out in the hallway where it all started two years ago. Ah, the memories.
If you ever get the chance to watch some A-level Ulti, take it. These players are amazing. If I had been on top of things, I would have told you all to come to the Ho Down finals on Sunday. But I wasn't so you'll have to make do with this picture.

Until next time, keep an eye out for those animals, I heard they were marching two by two to some big boat the other day.

Oh man, don't even get those guys (Ok, so, Jon & Ryan) started on DJ Shadow. They lovet it muchly too. Feist is lovely, of course. Congrats! Thievery Corp: I keep meaning to check out their stuff, but I never do. I keep hearing comparisons to Zero 7, what I've heard of Zero 7 is pretty slow, chill stuff. Is T.Corp a bit peppier?
Steph: Am I gonna go bankrupt next year (I mean, more so) b/c of you? And here I thought you were to be the GOOD influence!
Uhhhhh... no? lol. You'll have enough bad influences in TO without me, I think (like H&M and all those fancy EASTERN stores). Plus, thoughts of living in cardboard boxes if we can't pay will keep us from getting in tooo much trouble... hopefully!

God I'm a retard. "Yes, I CAN click a button once." Sheesh...
Yeah, Zero 7 is pretty slow, chillout stuff with the divalicious vocals overtop while Thievery Corp has a little more variety with up tempo stuff and chillout stuff intertwined to create these awesome albums.
I figured DJ Shadow could not possibly be my find but I love him all the same. He is excellent.
Yeah, watch out for Steph, she can create rationales for any purchases. She lulls you into a false sense of complacency and then BAM! you're at the till, credit card in hand buying 4 times as much stuff as you had originally intended. Not that it's a bad thing. It's a good exercise in buying power. And you get more stuff and likely save money in the process cuz she's good with bargains. But watch out for her! I'm personally sending her on many an excursion to Modrobes. She's going to be my lounge pant supplier. Yay!
Pants...? In which... to lounge? Mod Pants? At Mod lounges? I am intrigued!
